This past Sunday, Lexi and I met with the Mission Board at our church.  We were both nervous, but it went really well.  We let them know the details of our trip.  They asked lots of questions, most we had answers to, but some we will need to find out.  Overall we left and felt really good about everything.  This morning I received an email that the church is going to assist us on our trip - not only through prayers, but also financially.  WOW!!  We were just so surprised!!

It's OFFICIAL! We have a DATE!!!!!

Well,... Jesus surprised two days before Christmas with an early Christmas gift - a DATE for our trip!!  We WILL be joining a team going to El Salvador, August  9th-15th!!  YIPPEE!  It feels more real than ever.  We will be getting contacted after the first of the year to find out who is in our group (all we know is they are not from the Austin area)... but that's ok, and we will need to make our deposit soon.  My mind went wild with details: passports needed, rain boots, rain coats, do we need water proof pants?... etc... but then I was reminded: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." ~ Philippians 4:6-7.  We know - God's "GOT THIS"...
We are in the process of transferring our "Go Fund Me" to other ways of receiving donations, because they take a percentage out for every donation and every withdrawal.  We will update that info very soon.

For now,... we ask for prayers in keeping a peaceful heart, staying wide eyed in wherever Jesus will lead us.

We have made 1/8th to our goal!! WOO HOO! Through a lot of prayers, we have been pulled to serve with Living Water International. They are an organization that has been drilling wells across the globe for 22+ years. Along with working alongside engineers to do the drilling, we will also go into the villages to talk and minister to the women and children about sanitation: why you should wash your hands, Germs 101, etc... all while teaching about Jesus. Right now, we are on the "wait list" since we are only a group of two. We will have to join another smaller group. I do have faith that this will all work out, but we will not know for sure until the Spring. Until the mean time, we will continue to fundraise, since 50% will be also due in the spring.
Lexi and I both know we are answering God's call and a little nervous, but VERY excited about what lies ahead.

Jesus is just so amazing! We are overwhelmed with so much support for our friends and family. Thank you everyone!
We are trusting that He will show us exactly where in Central America He wants us to go. There have been several opportunities presented to us. Right now, we are moving forward with continued prayers for clarity. But, it has never been made more clear, that we are heading in the right direction. Now, just to see if Jesus will have us work with getting clean water to the people, ministering to children, or helping in an orphanage....

Thank you all for the kind words and support! We do ask for your prayers over location right now. We know that Jesus is sending us to Central America, but the exact location is currently unclear. We thought it would be Guatemala, but now there has been some new developments. We know that He has all of the details worked out! Thank you for your prayers!

These past few weeks have been so eye opening for us! When we first started praying for this trip, it felt... So small. That's the best way I can explain it. But, now... With everyone's outreach and love and support, it feels... SO right. And I mean, because we had no idea that so many would "care". Sometimes, it's just so hard to see past your bubble, I didn't realize that others outside our immediate family and people we see on a daily basis would feel moved to help us. Some have been anonymous... Some supporters I haven't seen in 15+ years... Just so many selfless acts! We just feel so overwhelmed and shocked. It has been such a breath of fresh air, in today's world! Thank you all for your prayers, your notes, your donations, your text messages... They all mean SO very much!!
